Mother and son escape death when a raging Scorpio narrowly misses them in Narasapuram (AP); one dead

In a tragic incident on Wednesday in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, Narasapuram, a Scorpio went out of control and crashed into several people standing on the side of the road. One of them died and four others were injured.

Video footage of the incident has surfaced on social media, showing the exact moment the car rammed into the crowd. Luckily, a mother and her child escaped death when the car missed them by inches as she was trying to mount a motorcycle.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the car, which was heading from Sitaramapuram to Narasapuram, lost control near Anjaneyaswamy Temple.

Gorinkala Valivar of Mangalaguntapaleni was taking her elderly aunt Mekala Marybai (58) to a private hospital on a two-wheeler when they were hit by the car. Marybai died at the scene and Valivar sustained serious injuries. Peddireddy Aruna, her husband Esu and their 13-year-old son Saimanikantha, who were standing on the side of the road, were also injured.

Locals immediately rushed Valivar to a private hospital, while the three other injured were transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance. There was reportedly a delay of over half an hour as the ambulance had to attend to other victims first.

Six two-wheelers were also destroyed in the accident.

Sub-Inspector Jayalakshmi of Narasapuram city police confirmed that a case has been filed based on Valivar’s complaint. The investigation into the accident is still ongoing.
