“Moonlit Movies” brings film fans of all ages to Main Street Square

RAPID CITY, SD (KOTA) – The third and final installment of Moonlit Movies 2024 brought dozens of Harry Potter fans to Main Street Square on Monday night, where a large inflatable screen showed “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” outdoors. The film screening series is a partnership between Main Street Square and Elks Theater.

“It is a great experience for everyone to experience an outdoor movie at the Elks Theater on the beautiful lawn of Main Street Square,” said Kriste Steinken, Executive Director of the Elks Theater. “We couldn’t ask for better partners.”

The film started at 8:30 p.m., but the festivities began hours earlier. The organizers had brought plenty of accessories to prepare the visitors for the action.

“We have fun swag like keychains, stickers and wands, some temporary tattoos that look like the Harry Potter scars,” said Pomai Lindenthal, event coordinator at Main Street Square.

Moonlit Movies is expected to return to Main Street Square next summer.
