MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A popular real estate trading game is moving its pieces to the Bluff City to create a new edition: Memphis MONOPOLY!

In the spring, you can try your luck and own expensive real estate in Memphis, such as the Peabody Hotel, the Memphis Zoo, or even the National Civil Rights Museum!

Top Trumps USA creates a MONOPOLY capturing the most famous landmarks around the 901.

“We look for places that have a strong sense of local pride and that reflect different aspects of culture,” says Sarah Bowman, a representative of Top Trumps.

That’s why the gaming company wants fans to try their luck from now until September 30th and share which locations they would like to see on the board.

Your input will replace the Promenade and Park Place of the original MONOPOLY board with locally themed spaces.

“Everyone has their own opinion about their favorite restaurant and their own experiences. Sharing those with us helps create a forum for locals and visitors alike who have been living here their whole lives,” Bowman said.

Memphis will be the second city in Tennessee to get its own MONOPOLY edition. It will even include customized Community Chest and Chance game cards.

Ted Townsend, president and CEO of the Greater Memphis Chamber, said participating in the global game is another way to get the city noticed.

“We are incredibly grateful that Top Trumps and Hasbro chose Memphis for their city expansions. We are one of only a few cities in the country chosen for this opportunity. We love celebrating the good things about Memphis,” he said.

The game will take eight months to complete and will be available in all Memphis stores in April 2025.
