MKE music premiere: A pop speech from Half Moon HideAway

MKE music premiere: A pop speech from Half Moon HideAway

Every week Milwaukee music premiere connects the city’s artists with our audience. If you are an artist whose work you would like to have featured exclusively on Radio Milwaukee, visit our Music submission page to find out how.

Happy and optimistic. These are the adjectives that should describe a song that reminds us all that we live in a crazy world and that we should do our best to be happy and content with ourselves.

So it seems that Milwaukee band Half Moon HideAway understood the task when they recorded “Nobody’s Perfect,” the song we feature today and which is the third single from the upcoming album. Slow and steady. You’ve got your bright guitar riffs, crisp, steady percussion, and full, warm keys – all put together in a way that will have your head bobbing back and forth.

Written in early 2024, “Nobody’s Perfect” was frontman Matt Froelich’s first demo because he wanted to make sure the whole band could record it together at their first recording session for the album. Along with Noah Bayer (keys), Ryan Schmidt (bass) and Ben Dahms (drums), Froelich created a “reminder to not let the little things in life stop you and that we’re all just humans in this crazy world trying to figure it out.” The confidence-building chorus confirms this:

Nobody is perfect
You will never be if you try
So it is not worth it
To try to be in your life
Just keep learning
And you will do well
Nobody is perfect
