NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – An 82-year-old Giles County woman who had been missing since Tuesday has been found safe and sound, officials said Saturday.

According to Giles County EMS, Caulyne Cross was found on Saturday. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued a Silver Alert for Cross on Tuesday.

Several authorities and community members searched for her for five days.

Giles County Emergency Services said it will release a detailed report in the coming days detailing man hours spent, miles traveled and volunteer assistance.

“This incredible outcome is a testament to the power of prayer, the unwavering devotion of the Giles County community and their countywide assistance, which came through years of building strong working relationships,” Giles County Emergency Services said in a Facebook post. “Our county is blessed with some of the hardest-working volunteers, both responders and citizens, who made extraordinary efforts to bring Ms. Cross home safely.”

GCES said Robert Cross, Caulyne’s husband, spoke with Giles County Sheriff Kyle Helton and wanted to make sure everyone who helped and prayed to bring his wife home knew how much he appreciated each and every volunteer.

GCES also partnered with Christian Aid Ministries, a 100% volunteer-based Christian search and rescue group.

“Thank you to everyone who prayed, volunteered and worked tirelessly to ensure Ms. Cross’s safe return,” GCES said. “This was a collaborative effort and we are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support from the community.”
