Gophers rate State Fair Big Fat Bacon, roasted corn
Gophers football players Danny Striggow, Jah Joyner and Darnell Jefferies put on their reporter hats at the State Fair to taste test Big Fat Bacon and Roasted Corn.
St. Paul, Minnesota (Fox 9) – Rain didn’t stop the crowds on opening day of the Minnesota State Fair.
Crowds flocked to the Great Minnesota Get-Together to experience food, rides, animals and more.
The fair will take place from August 22nd to Labor Day (September 2nd).
Fairgrounds hours are 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily, however on Labor Day the fairgrounds close at 9:00 p.m. Most buildings close at 9:00 p.m., except on Labor Day when most close at 8:00 p.m.

FOX 9 Good day
The fair aired an entertaining episode of Good Day on its first day. This State Fair will be Alix Kendall’s last fair with FOX 9 before she retires.

Big crowds at the State Fair
Despite the rain that started later in the day, the first day of the Great Minnesota Get-Together was a busy one, with people enjoying food, rides, games and more.
Rainy first day at the State Fair
The first day started beautifully, but heavy rain set in in the afternoon. However, the trade fair visitors were not deterred and continued to enjoy the day.
