Watch Kalen DeBoer’s opening remarks to the media Sunday following the Alabama football team’s fourth fall practice.
The Alabama football team is already delivering heroics at the start of the NFL preseason.
A day after former Crimson Tide kicker Will Reichard kicked a game-winning field goal for the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday, former tight end Miller Forristall showed that the clutch gene is an Alabama trait. Forristall scored a game-winning touchdown by former Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett IV in the Los Angeles Rams’ 13-12 victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

Forristall caught all three passes he saw for 20 yards or more on Sunday, including the game-winning touchdown where Bennett escaped heavy pressure, rolled left and hit Forristall near the end zone. Forristall broke from his route and eluded defensive back Josh DeBerry to help his quarterback.
The former Alabama tight end has bounced around the league since going undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft. He originally signed with the Tennessee Titans, where he spent part of the 2021 season, but has also played with the Cleveland Browns (2021-22), New Orleans Saints (2023), and Browns (2023). He signed a reserve/future contract on Jan. 16. He has no NFL stats to show for it yet.
Forristall played five seasons with the Crimson Tide and was part of the 2017 and 2020 national championship teams. He finished his career at Alabama with 44 catches for 505 yards and five touchdowns. He had a career-high four touchdowns in 2019 and had his best season in 2020 with 23 catches for 253 yards with one touchdown.
