Mike Macdonald is “really grateful for the entire organisation” after the first day of training together

Macdonald praised everyone involved in the process and for making the trip go smoothly.

“I’m just very thankful for the organization as a whole,” Macdonald said of his trip. “But the work that our equipment people do, getting everything ready, getting everything on point in the hotel, it makes you realize, ‘Hey, this is something we’ve said is important to improve our football team.’ And then we made that decision in the spring and then the executives from Jody (Allen) to John (Schneider) to Chuck (Arnold) just said, ‘Hey, let’s make it happen. Let’s make it happen at a high level.’ That’s great. Kudos to everyone involved.”

Surprisingly, after a day of traveling and practicing in a climate they are not used to, the Seahawks did not have a single player leave practice with cramps, while the Titans had cramps during practice. That was impressive considering the adjustments the Seahawks players had to make while traveling. The people behind it: the athletic training staff and the health and performance of the players.

Head athletic trainer David Stricklin said he and his staff have been working since Sunday to ensure players stay hydrated and prepared for the 90-degree weather they will play in this week.

During his post-training press conference, Macdonald joked that the weather wasn’t so bad.

“A piece of cake, man, it’s only 32 degrees. It’s a little more humid, but I think it should be warmer tomorrow. But the guys did a great job. They were hydrated and I think most of them finished the practice.”
