Megyn Kelly criticizes “Tampon Tim” Walz for his “radical” trans politics: “He is a second Gavin Newsom”

Megyn Kelly criticized Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as the “most radical” choice for Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate in 2024, mocking him as “Tampon Tim” for providing free menstrual products to boys.

“I’ve been thinking about Walz since yesterday. He’s the most radical person they could find on the trans issue,” the former NBC and Fox host said during her Wednesday broadcast of SiriusXM’s “The Megyn Kelly Show.”

Under Walz’s governorship, Minnesota was declared a “sanctuary state,” providing legal protections to children who come there to receive so-called gender-affirming treatment, including puberty blockers, reconstructive genital surgery and hormone therapy, as well as to the doctors who perform the surgeries.

Kelly compared the progressive Walz to California’s Democratic governor, Gavin Newsom, who recently passed a controversial law that would keep parents in the dark about their children’s gender identity.

“There is little, if any, difference between the two,” she said, adding, “He scares me because he could actually become vice president and possibly president.”

In a separate post on her X account on Wednesday, Kelly called Walz “Tampon Tim” — a reference to his policy of providing free menstrual products to elementary school children, including transgender children.

The law, signed last year, requires that tampons and other products be made available in boys’ and girls’ restrooms at schools for children between fourth and 12th grades.

Walz was tapped by Harris on Tuesday and later attended a rally with her in Philadelphia.

“He had the rally in the palm of his hand,” Kelly said, adding that he overshadowed Harris as a speaker.

“He is much more effective than her or Joe Biden.”

Kelly said that when she saw Walz speak, “a feeling of fear rose in my throat.”

“Because I know what he allows in Minnesota regarding children,” she said.

Several Republican-governed states have banned gender reassignment surgery on minors. Doctors who perform such procedures risk losing their licenses.

“I care about children. And he’s going full throttle and full steam ahead,” Kelly said of Walz.

“So when I saw him shine last night – I’m not going to vote for him, I said that honestly – I recoiled… I understand why she voted for him.”

The Post has asked Walz and the Harris campaign team for comment.
