Megyn Kelly calls for a boycott of Taylor Swift after the pop superstar performed at a comedy event aimed at supporting Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Swift reunited with her longtime friend Selena Gomez in Brooklyn, New York on Friday for a performance of Ramy Youssef’s “More Feelings” show at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Celebrity guests reportedly included Cara Delevingne, Zoë Kravitz and Anya Taylor-Joy.

Last month, Youssef announced on Instagram that proceeds from some of his shows – including those in Brooklyn, as well as performances in Paris, Berlin and San Francisco – would be donated to American Near East Refugee Aid to provide “humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.” The Washington-based group, also known as Anera, focuses on helping refugees and vulnerable communities in the Palestinian territories, as well as Lebanon and Jordan.

That was apparently too much for Kelly. On Tuesday’s episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show,” the conservative commentator sharply attacked Swift, saying she “owes Israelis and Jewish Americans an apology” for her appearance on the show.

“I hope they boycott her events until she makes her statement, because participating in this was wrong,” Kelly said. “Google it. See what they’re doing to gay people in Gaza. Read up on women’s rights in Gaza.”

Turning to Swift, Kelly added: “You obviously know nothing.”

Although the singer did not respond publicly to Kelly’s comments, her loyal fans still defended her online.

“Megyn Kelly will lose more followers from this suggestion alone than Taylor ever will,” wrote one person on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “Don’t mess with motherfucker!”

Another said Kelly “needs a hug and some friendship bracelets. That might heal her. Poor thing.”

Kelly appeared to argue that humanitarian donations to Gaza were inappropriate because the territory has been controlled for years by Hamas, the militant group responsible for the deadly Oct. 7 attack on Israel and which has since carried out brutal retaliatory attacks on the Palestinian enclave.

However, Anera’s website states: “Because Hamas is classified as a ‘terrorist group’ by the US State Department, Anera does not cooperate with it or coordinate its work.”
