Megyn Kelly applauds Late Show audience for humiliating Kaitlan Collins

Megyn Kelly applauded Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show” audience for laughing at Kaitlan Collins

Kelly said on her SirusXM show on Wednesday that despite Colbert’s “left-leaning New York audience,” they knew the late-night host, who called the objectivity of CNN’s reporting a “farce” in his interview with Collins on Monday.

“She (Kaitlan Collins) is on CNN, she goes over to get a nice shout-out from Stephen Colbert about how great she is and how great CNN is,” Kelly said. “And the left-leaning New York audience brought some truth to it… Incredible. How humbling and good for that audience. They knew this was a farce.”

The laughter came Monday when Collins talked about how reeling Donald Trump was after President Joe Biden’s decision to drop out of the election in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris, pointing out that he couldn’t find usual points of attack for someone a few decades younger than him.

“I know you’re objective over there and just reporting the news as it is,” Colbert replied without irony.

What followed was laughter from the studio audience, which seemed to surprise both Collins and Colbert.

“Is this supposed to be a joke?” she asked.

“It shouldn’t be that way,” Colbert said, “but I guess it is.”
