On-stage pranks are common practice on Kenny Chesney’s tours, and Megan Moroney may have just pulled off the best prank ever.

During the first of three nights at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts on Friday (August 23), Chesney brought opening act Moroney onstage for a duet performance of “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” – a song they have sung together several times on the tour.

But this time, Moroney had something special planned. She rolled onto the stage on a John Deere toy tractor, dressed like Chesney and waving a No Shoes Nation flag. Moroney even put her hair in a replica of the star’s signature white cowboy hat.

Video of that moment shows Moroney breaking out in laughter at the big reveal and then driving her tractor over to Chesney to perform their duet.

Before going on stage, Moroney made a video to show fans the look up close. In a clip she posted to TikTok, she shows off her Chesney-inspired outfit and even shows off a few dance moves that prove her impersonation of her tour boss is absolutely spot on.

After the big surprise, Chesney admitted that Moroney had executed the prank perfectly – although he noted that the artists on his tour traditionally wait until the last night before coming up with the surprises.

“But Megan just couldn’t wait,” he said in a statement. “When I found out who let her on the tour bus, well… But I have to admit, she looked good in my clothes. If I can tell her one thing, this girl is going to go far, and fast.”

Chesney’s Sun Goes Down Tour ends on Sunday (August 25) with her third and final sold-out show at Gillette Stadium.
