Max Verstappen and his partner Kelly Piquet have shared snapshots of themselves enjoying quite different activities during the summer holidays.
The three-time world champion went into Formula 1’s annual break as the championship leader again, but this year he must expect stronger competition from his rivals in front of the spectators.

Piquet, a Brazilian model, is the daughter of fellow three-time title winner Nelson and often travels with Verstappen to the countries where her father used to race.
The pair recently made headlines when Verstappen defended Piquet, who accused online trolls of “slander.”
Verstappen and Piquet share separate holiday photos
The pair have been posting updates during Formula 1’s summer break, but Kelly Piquet’s recent holiday posts, in which she showed her followers pictures from her Portugal holiday, often raised one question: Where is Max?
The rider does not appear to appear in the two most recent carousel posts on Piquet’s accounts, but she did post pictures showing stunning coastal scenery and horseback adventures.
Her most frequently featured partner in the posts is her daughter Penelope, whose father is former F1 driver Daniil Kvyat.
The young driver often teams up with Piquet on the track and Verstappen was delighted to break the “curse” she brought to his races earlier this season.

Piquet was also absent from Verstappen’s summer break social media update. The driver simply posted three pictures of himself in some kind of ice bath with the caption “Recharging”.
At least the 26-year-old had a rubber duck with him as a companion, which shows that he was not completely alone in his action.
The celebrity couple were not completely separated during the summer, however. Verstappen appeared frequently in Piquet’s story, including pushing the 35-year-old’s daughter on a swing and there was a selfie of the couple.
With the end of the summer break approaching, Verstappen is preparing to launch different tyres when he returns to racing at his home Grand Prix in Zandvoort at the end of August.
