Grammy award winner Mariah Carey said, according to multiple reports, that her mother Patricia and sister Alison died on the same day over the weekend.
“I am heartbroken to have lost my mother this past weekend. Unfortunately, in a tragic turn of events, my sister also lost her life that same day,” Carey told People.
Carey said she felt “blessed” after spending the last week with her mother before her death. according to TMZ, and that she appreciates “everyone’s love and support and respect” for her privacy during this “impossible” time.
