Manisha Koirala remembers difficult shooting of “Bombay Song”

Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala recently recalled the difficult conditions during the shooting of the song ‘Tu Hi Re’ from the cult film Bombay. She revealed some behind-the-scenes details of the shoot and revealed that it was a particularly tough experience.

Leeches in the jungle

In an interview with O2 India, Koirala described shooting in a dense jungle infested with leeches. “At one point we had to shoot on rocks with the sea lapping against them, which was quite dangerous, but we managed it,” she said. “The other spot was in the middle of a dense jungle and it was infested with leeches.”

Overcoming obstacles

Koirala explained that every step she took would attract leeches. She wore a blue skirt and had to run through the jungle, which made the situation even more difficult. To control the leeches, the team used salt and wore boots to keep them away. “We figured out how to navigate a difficult situation,” she added.

Looking back on her career

In a recent promotion for her film Heeramandi, Koirala spoke about her journey in the film industry, her battle with cancer and working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali after 28 years. “When I was offered this project, I was gardening in Nepal and I was excited. It took 28 years for Sanjay to come up with a good project and I told him, ‘Don’t let another 28 years pass before you offer me another one,'” she said.
