Royse City police have arrested a man who allegedly picked up a teenage girl on her way home from school and offered her money for sex.

Daniel Leek, 44, was arrested and charged with human trafficking and soliciting minors for prostitution.

According to police, the 15-year-old was walking home on the I-30 access road between FM 35 and FM 548 on Thursday when an unknown man in a white SUV offered her a ride.

The girl said she got into the car voluntarily, but when she did, the driver, later identified as Leek, said he would take her to his house.

According to police, Leek then offered the teenager money to “perform sexual acts with him.”

When Leek entered a gas station to buy the girl a drink, she ran out of the car and flagged down a Royse City police officer who was standing nearby, a police news release said.

As Leek tried to drive off, the officer managed to stop his vehicle and arrest him.

According to Royse City Police, the girl was not injured in the incident.
