The incident, shared by Gulfport Police in Mississippi, has gone viral. A screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation between a young man and a police officer, in which the man thinks the officer is his friend, has sparked amusement online.

The young man was texting his friend about drugs, but accidentally sent the message to a police officer. According to reports, after a brief conversation, the police officer sent him a selfie, which left the man speechless.

Gulfport Police shared a screenshot of the conversation on their Facebook page with the caption: “From now on, double check the number before texting. Last week, a young man started a conversation with an officer after 10 p.m., but it ended fairly quickly.”
