Machine Gun Kelly gives his fans an up close and personal look at his most intense tattoo experience to date.

In February, the 33-year-old rapper and singer-songwriter debuted a massive blackout tattoo that spans his torso and both arms, covering most of his previous tattoos. “For spiritual purposes only,” he captioned an Instagram post showing off his new tattoo, which he said required 44 needles.

On Monday, MGK shared an Instagram video documenting the grueling process.

“Today is the day I start the physical transformation of my body,” he says at the beginning of the video, his old tattoo still visible. “We’ll see how it goes.”

Over the course of several weeks, the musician sat for long tattoo sessions, which took a toll on his body. In his video, MGK’s arms can be seen dripping with blood and his elbow swells up at one point.

“This is the most painful shit I’ve ever experienced in my life,” he notes.

At the end of the video, MGK is seen sitting in a hyperbaric chamber wearing an oxygen mask, which he claims will help his body “heal faster.”

The singer, whose real name is Colson Baker, received a flood of likes and comments on Instagram after first revealing his new tattoo in February, when his tattoo artist ROXX also took to social media to share his latest work.

“Made art with @machinegunkelly. Never met anyone harder,” the artist wrote under the photo.

MGK’s fiancée, Megan Fox, shared her thoughts on the shocking tattoo transformation during an appearance at Alex Cooper’s Call her daddy Podcast in March.

The 37-year-old actress said she found the tattoo “really elegant” and noted that MGK has a “special story” that only he can tell.

“But the relationship with the tattoos that he had was very emotionally conflicted, whatever they represented – and I don’t actually know – but he didn’t want to relive the memories of some of his tattoos and he wanted to get rid of them,” Fox told Cooper.

“It’s like an upgraded version of all those stitched-together tattoos,” Fox continued. “I think it’s really elegant and ahead of its time. I think in 10 years it’s going to be a trend.”

The actress also revealed that MGK did not receive anesthesia for the tattoo and said she could not imagine how he could “endure such pain.”
