It was only when the musician grew older that he began to understand how much these traumatic events had affected his father and strained their relationship.

“I remember being so angry with him as a kid because if I scared him or he heard a loud bang or a loud noise, he would freak out, really freak out,” he recalls.

MGK admitted that he portrayed himself as someone who could handle the pressures of fame, criticism and negativity.

“Because I fought back against all that trauma by becoming what I always wanted my father to be, which was to be tough, to shake it all off, and to just fight anyone who comes at you.”

MGK admitted that his past choices were unsustainable and that he is now working on himself as he has realized that he no longer has the energy for his old image.

“The story I was always told was that their father dropped the gun and his head basically got blown off,” the God Save Me Bunnie artist said in the episode released on August 5, adding, “It all happened in my dad’s room when he was 9 years old. So he and my grandmother were charged with murder.”
