LEITCHFIELD, Ky. (WBKO) – On Wednesday, August 7, Grayson County Sheriff’s Office officers received a call from dispatch informing them that a citizen had found her uncle’s stolen truck at the Smitty City convenience store at the intersection of KY 259/KY 226.

According to the official press release, the woman reported that there was a man in the vehicle. Some other citizens prevented the vehicle from leaving the premises.

When officers arrived, they found that 41-year-old Aaron Miller of Louisville was driving the vehicle and admitted to stealing it from the victim.

Near where the victim’s truck was stolen was a maroon 2007 Dodge Charger that was abandoned near the Clarkson exit on the Western Kentucky Parkway.

It was later discovered that Miller stole the vehicle in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He drove the vehicle until he ran out of gas and then looked for another vehicle to steal.

He was arrested and booked into the Grayson County Detention Center on two counts of auto theft.

Additionally, Miller had an arrest warrant out for failure to appear in Jefferson County.

Both vehicles were returned to their rightful owners.
