Los Alamos County residents invited to participate in the National Community Survey™ – Los Alamos Reporter

DISTRICT PRESS RELEASE

Los Alamos County announced today that the National Community Survey™ (NCS) is now open to all residents. The NCS is a benchmarking survey the county has used in 2020, 2022 and now 2024 to measure citizen perceptions of the quality of life in the community. It focuses on eight key areas: safety, mobility, natural environment, built environment, economy, recreation and wellness, education and enrichment, and community engagement.

Citizens can access the survey online:

This is the second phase of the survey. Earlier this month, a randomly selected sample of households in Los Alamos and White Rock were invited to participate. County officials are asking these individuals to use the unique survey link provided in their invitation and follow the instructions on which household member to respond to ensure diverse and representative feedback.

The survey ends on Friday, September 6, 22:59 for both open participation and random sample groups. All responses are anonymous. Although it is not required, participants will be asked if they would like to register with an email address and zip code. This helps the county provider avoid duplicate responses and verify county residency. Additionally, Los Alamos County wants to maintain ongoing engagement with the community and may periodically check the email list for input on other important issues, initiatives, or other relevant topics.

The County Council and Los Alamos administration thank those in the sample who have already completed the survey and encourage other residents to participate. Survey results will be used to guide strategic planning efforts, set priority goals, and allocate resources to improve services, facilities, and initiatives.
