Lorraine Kelly has gained weight during the lockdown

Lorraine Kelly has gone “two dress sizes” during lockdown.

The 62-year-old TV presenter has admitted that she gained weight during the COVID-19 lockdown and ended up eating “plates of chocolate every night at 8pm”.

She admitted: “It went from being a tiny piece (of chocolate) to a whole bar.”

Lorraine admits that her weight gain has undermined her confidence.

The experienced presenter told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Even if I were invited to a red carpet event at the moment, I just wouldn’t have the confidence to go.”

“Not even if George Clooney was waiting for me naked with a rose between his teeth.”

Lorraine’s weight gain eventually resulted in her no longer fitting into her clothes.

She said: “You gain weight slowly, it doesn’t happen overnight. I noticed it because I went to work and couldn’t fit into my clothes anymore.”

And although Lorraine insists there is “nothing wrong” with being a size 14, she feels like she is carrying too much weight.

Speaking about her weight gain, she said: “There’s nothing wrong with being a size 14, but my body should be a size 12.”

“At ‘Lorraine’ we have models in sizes 44, 44 and 46. They are perfectly proportioned and in perfect health.

“I have friends who are tiny, and that’s great because that’s how they’re supposed to be. But I’m supposed to be a 10. If I were an 8, I wouldn’t look good.”

Lorraine also attaches importance to a balanced diet.

The TV star knows that she can still treat herself occasionally and still maintain a healthy weight.

She said, “You can balance it all out. You can have the cookie, you can have the cake… but don’t eat the whole damn cake!”
