There will only be eight teams left in the 2024 Little League World Series, evenly split between the U.S. and international leagues.

In the United States group, Southwest Region champions Nevada will face mountain champions Texas on the winners’ side of the group. Nevada opened the tournament last Thursday with a 9-0 win over Pennsylvania and then beat Florida 4-1. Texas’ 9-1 win over New York and 3-2 win over Hawaii secured them a spot in the final eight teams.

In the international group, Japan has a good chance of winning its first Little League World Series since 2017 thanks to its 11-0 win over Puerto Rico and its 2-1 victory over Venezuela. In the final of the winners’ group, they will face Chinese Taipei, which has won three games in a row – 8-0 over Canada, 11-0 over Australia and 10-2 over Cuba.

Mexico and Venezuela face each other in the elimination round of the international group. In the US group, Hawaii and Florida are still in the race for the elimination round.

On Wednesday, the main and elimination rounds begin again at 1 p.m. The teams in the elimination round will be determined based on Tuesday’s results.
