List of road closures in St. Lawrence County updated | Public Service News

CANTON – St. Lawrence County updated its list of closed roads early Wednesday morning.

More than 100 roads and bridges were partially damaged by flooding from Storm Debby on Friday.

The list of road closures published shortly after 1 a.m. on Wednesday shows that 49 roads have been reopened since the district last updated the list on Monday.

Eleven roads are listed as severely damaged, and 13 require extensive repairs.

The 11 severely damaged roads are:

— Blanchard Hill Road in Russell

— County Route 24 between Cary and junction 24/27 in Pierrepont

— County Route 49 near Vankennan Road in Brookdale

— Dana Hill Road in Russell

— Deane Road in Clare

— Hill Road in Russell

— Lake George Road in Clare

— Orebed Road in Russell

— Pyrites-Russell Road in Russell

— White Street in Clare

— Wilson Road: 109 in Pierrepont.

The following roads will be closed for a longer period of time:

— Bagdad Road north of Dayton Road in Potsdam

— Campell Road: 192 in Edwards

— Cold Brook Drive: 466 South Colton

— County Route 24 Edwards and Belmont in Edwards

— County Route 24 Stone Road to Route 812 in Fowler

— County Route 54 and McEwen Road in Lawrence

— Evans Road (end of County Route 19) in Hermon

115-223 in Colton

— Post Road/Church Street Bridge in Canton

— Tooley Pond Road in Clare

— Route 11 near Desmond Road in Lawrence

— County Route 21, between 25 and 25A in Canton

— Perrin Road, between 295 and 303 in Potsdam

Debby made landfall in Florida on August 5 as a Category 1 hurricane. Debby made landfall in South Carolina a second time as a tropical storm. Debby was downgraded to a tropical depression late Thursday afternoon and was a post-tropical cyclone by Friday.

Debby caused flooding in New York from the Finger Lakes to St. Lawrence and Franklin Counties.
