Lincoln County Commissioners Accept County Treasurer’s Resignation

NORTH PLATTE, Nebraska (KNOP) – Lincoln County Commissioners on Monday accepted the resignation letter of Lincoln County Treasurer Alex Gurciullo.

Gurciullo, a Lincoln County native, was appointed to the position in 2021 after controversies arose within the Lincoln County Tax Office, including embezzlement. Fourth District Commissioner Chris Bruns says those cases are a thing of the past thanks in part to Gurciullo’s work.

On Monday, Lincoln County Commissioners accepted the resignation letter from Lincoln County Treasurer Alex Gurciullo.

“There have been many problems with the office in recent years, but we no longer have those problems,” said District Commissioner Chris Bruns.

“I think my colleagues were very happy every week when I listened to them give their revenue reports and tell them how much revenue you put into the district coffers and how much that brings into the office. We will miss you,” said Micaela Wuehler, commissioner of the third district.

Gurciullo’s resignation will be effective September 24, 2024. Lincoln County Commissioners have developed a succession plan.
