Although we still have a long way to go before we can experience Epic Universe, Universal Orlando is giving us lots of little glimpses of what to expect at the brand new theme park.

Epic Universe is scheduled to open in 2025 and will feature four unique lands, new rides, new hotels, and more. Universal has released information on all of the lands coming to the new theme park, and now we’ve just received more information on one of the rides coming to the Celestial Park entrance area.

Celestial Park is the “world between worlds, where everything begins and ends.” In Celestial Park you will find the portals to all of Epic Universe’s immersive areas. In Celestial Park you will also find a brand new roller coaster called Stardust Racers.

In an article in the Orlando Sentinel, Jeff Polk, executive vice president at Universal Orlando and general manager of Epic, said of Stardust Racers: “You ride two roller coasters side by side and race against your friends. Of course there will be a winner, but I can also tell you that I’m most looking forward to experiencing this at night. There are no lights on the track. The roller coaster itself is lit up and it will look like meteorites are shooting across the sky.”

Coming to the Celestial Park area of Epic Universe, this roller coaster was originally announced under the name “Starfall Racers,” but has since been changed to “Stardust Racers.”

Stardust Racers is a double launch roller coaster that will reach speeds of up to 60 mph. It will feature inverted cross-curves and a “dazzling display of vibrant colors and celestial music.” Riders must be at least 4 feet tall to experience this attraction.

This roller coaster is designed to make you feel like you’re speeding through the stars on a comet. We’ve seen some concept art for this new roller coaster as well as aerial shots of the construction progress, but now we get our first close-up look at the rides.

Stardust Racers will not have any external track lighting, but that doesn’t mean the attraction won’t be illuminated. The cars will be covered in lights, lighting up the sky as they race around the track.

We took a look at the vehicle and it has a big bright light on the front. We also saw some details including glowing stars on the vehicle.

We also got a look at the back of the vehicle. There will definitely be a variety of lights emanating from the ride. This preview of the vehicle comes from a promo video for a video that will be released on August 16, 2024, so we’ll definitely be on the lookout for even more details.

This first look at the Stardust Racers ride has confirmed that the best time to ride Stardust Racers is definitely at night! We think this roller coaster will be an incredible experience as you fly through the darkness aboard your comet. Plus, we think this attraction will be beautiful to look at at night too.

This is just one of the many new attractions opening in Epic Universe in 2025, and we are very excited to learn even more about this new theme park.
