Las Vegas Valley Police seek information in case of animal cruelty to 10-week-old puppy

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (FOX5) – Boulder City Police said they are currently investigating the injuries sustained by a 10-week-old puppy as part of a serious animal cruelty case.

FOX5 first reported on Tuesday about “Seven,” a male Rottweiler mix, who was found on a property on 7th Street.

Reportedly, the property owner did not know how the puppy got there.

Boulder City Animal Hospital says Seven is being treated for a dislocated jaw, eye and facial injuries, and missing teeth. Veterinarians say his injuries are consistent with animal cruelty.

Since his treatment, he has undergone two operations. One eye had to be removed.

“The Boulder City Police Department takes all cases of animal cruelty extremely seriously,” said Detective Sergeant Tiffany Driscoll. “The level of abuse this puppy suffered at the hands of a human is shocking. We hope someone comes forward with information regarding the puppy’s owners, where he came from, or anything else that could lead to an arrest and prosecution in this case.”

“Fortunately, Seven is now in good hands and is expected to make a full recovery,” added Ann Inabnitt, Boulder City Animal Control Director. “We are sincerely grateful for the outpouring of support from our Boulder City community and the residents of Southern Nevada who have made numerous donations and offers to support Seven’s care during his long recovery.”

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Boulder City Police Detective Brett Wibrew at [email protected].
