Fashion designer Kenneth Cole and his wife Maria Cuomo Cole recently put their huge New York estate up for sale.

The couple, who have been married since 1987, are seeking $22 million for the colonial-style villa and the approximately 14 acres (6.7 hectares) of land in the surrounding hamlet of Purchase, Bloomberg first reported.

When listed through brokers Sotheby’s International Realty-Greenwich and Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty, it was described as “one of New York’s most prestigious properties.”

The three-story mansion has a living space of almost 11,000 square meters.

All rooms have “magnificent views of the garden, from the large, continuous entrance hall to the two living rooms, due to the elevated position of the house,” the listing states.

There are seven bedrooms. A few offices, a playroom and a formal dining room for 80 people are apparently among the other rooms that make up the huge living space.

The $22 million property had been the Cole family’s “cherished” home “for 37 years,” the listing said.

Cole is known for the fashion company that bears his name, which offers shoes, clothing, accessories and other products.

The property associated with it appears to have as many luxurious amenities inside as it does outside, some of which are also attractive for sporting activities.

According to the listing, pickleball, tennis and basketball courts as well as a five-hole putting green are available. There is also a swimming pool.

Overall, the property is a “stunning work of art” that is “exceptionally private and secure,” the ad said.

Cole told Bloomberg that he and his wife’s decision to sell the house was due to them being “empty nesters in a very big nest.”

Several thousand people live in the Purchase area, where the property is located in Westchester County.

Other public figures are also said to have been active in the real estate market recently.

For example, former Olympic snowboarder Shaun White sold a Los Angeles home he owned since 2018 for over $3.9 million, the Wall Street Journal reported earlier this month. In June, a large horse farm in Illinois linked to John Deere CEO John May went up for sale, according to Realtor.com.
