Kelly Rowland says she was treated differently from other women on the Cannes red carpet and apparently got into an argument with a security guard after she tried to “make her point.”

In a video shared online, the former star of “Destiny’s Child” can be seen getting into a heated argument with a member of security on the way to the cinema at the premiere of the film “Marcello Mio”.

Rowland continued to talk about the incident at the amfAR gala in Canneswhere Hollywood stars Demi Moore and Cher were among the stars who collected donations for AIDS research.

The 43-year-old singer said that other women who didn’t look quite like me attended the event, and they weren’t insulted, pushed away or asked to get out.

The altercation apparently occurred when she posed for photos in a strapless red dress at the premiere on Tuesday evening.

The video shows the security guard holding up her arms to guide Rowland, 43, up the steps while she waves and poses for a photo. At that moment, Rowland points her finger at the employee and appears annoyed.

The argument continues up the stairs, and Rowland turns to make a comment to the security guard before entering the building.

The whole thing happened in front of a crowd of fans who watched the incident.

At the amfAR gala on Thursday, Rowland said: “The woman knows what happened. I know what happened. And I have boundaries. And I stand by those boundaries, and that’s all.”

“There were other women on that carpet who didn’t look quite like me, and they weren’t insulted, pushed off, or told to get off.

“I made my point. And she felt like she had to make her point, but I made my point and that was it.”

Sky News has contacted Rowland and the Cannes Film Festival for comment.

Rowland made headlines earlier this year after she reportedly left the Today show in the US.

Speculations about her departure were never confirmed.
