Kelly Ripa reminds her audience why it’s important to wash clothes after you receive them in the mail.

In the episode of Thursday, August 15 LIVE with Kelly and MarkThe 53-year-old actress recalled a purchase she made last Christmas when a “fancy department store” had a big sale.

First Hope and Faith The star was excited because “this sale never happens.” She “couldn’t believe the prices” and rushed to make a ton of purchases. However, that excitement faded when everything arrived and “everything smelled like marijuana.”

“Marijuana was pouring out of the box. It was so full of marijuana. I couldn’t believe it,” Kelly said. She called the situation “a mystery” because she had planned to give some of the purchases as gifts. “What should I do?” she wondered. “Should I give them their marijuana-scented gifts? Should I return them?”

Although the crowd laughed, her husband, Mark Consuelos, 53, said, “If you return it, they might think you’re the stoner.” So Kelly decided to take care of the matter quickly. “I immediately called and asked, ‘Why do my things smell like marijuana?'” The store tried to pass the problem on to the courier who delivered the items.

However, Kelly disagreed, explaining, “When I opened the shipping box, that wasn’t the smell. The scent wafted out when I opened the box in the store. So it’s coming from the house. The smell is coming from the house.”

In the end, the mother of three decided she had to return most of it, including a few coats she had bought her children for Christmas, because she was too afraid that others would think she was the reason everything smelled of the drug.

Ripa said it was a “very disturbing” ordeal, but she tried to make a joke out of it when she gave away a few handbags to other people. She decided to include an apology note with them: “Sorry this smells like weed.”

The funny, recorded segment aired after Ripa disappeared LIVE with Kelly and Mark for a week. Although it was not addressed, many believe the reason was because Ripa was in Anaheim, California for the D23 Disney Convention, as on Sunday, August 11, she received a Disney Legends Award.

The awards are intended to honor individuals whose contributions have had a significant impact on The Walt Disney Company and its audiences.

Ripa has been working with Disney and its broadcasters such as ABC for years and appears in series such as All my children And Hope and Faithbefore various iterations of the LIVE Show over the years, co-hosting alongside Regis Philbin, Michael Strahan, Ryan Seacrest and now her husband.

At this year’s ceremony, Disney also honored legends Harrison Ford, Miley Cyrus, Jamie Lee Curtis and Angela Bassett.
