And during the Aug. 23 show, where Megan Trainor visited the studios to talk about motherhood, Kelly made a cryptic remark about having a fourth child.
Megan told Kelly and Mark that she hopes to have four children, which the former actress liked. “I want four,” the singer told the hosts, to which Kelly replied, “Four is a good number. When you have three, there’s a triangulation.”
Megan then explained that she was one of three and it was often two against one. “I’m going to form teams!” she said.
“Yeah, smart,” Kelly replied, looking at her husband. “I’m sorry,” Mark replied.
Kelly and Mark are now alone and have a close bond with their three adult children Michael (27), Lola (25) and Joaquin (21).
The couple will not have any more children, Hope and Faith The former graduate had previously admitted that she felt brooding after meeting her boyfriend Andy Cohen’s son, Benjamin, in 2019.
During an episode of LiveKelly told then-co-host Ryan Seacrest that when she saw Benjamin, she started thinking about having a fourth child.
“I told (Mark) last night,” she said. “He said, ‘It’s OK. Let’s be thankful for what we have.'”
“And then he pulled game of Thrones and fell asleep, which had an anti-aphrodisiac effect,” she added.
Kelly and Mark raised their children in New York City. The two oldest have now graduated and still live in the city, while their youngest son, Joaquin, is currently far from home in Michigan, where he is attending college.
The couple admitted it was difficult to adjust to life as parents without children when Joaquin left the nest, but they now enjoy the freedom and the precious time they can spend with their children.
Previously, Mark gave insight into the family dynamics and talked about the holidays in a chat with People.
The star spoke to the publication shortly after Christmas and talked about how nice it was to spend time not only with his children, but also with their partners.
“It was nice … they were really nice people to hang out with. They did a great job. We love them all. I was just really proud that our kids wanted to hang out with us,” he said.
He continued, “That’s kind of the goal after you raise them, and we’re still raising them, but they’re adults, so we’re not really done yet. They’re mostly on their own. But I was just really thrilled and honored that my kids wanted to spend time with me and my wife.” “And not be embarrassed if they brought their boyfriend or girlfriend,” he added.
