ANAHEIM– Forget wardrobe malfunctions: Kelly Ripa, host of “Live with Kelly and Mark,” had a makeup malfunction just before she took the stage to be inducted as one of the newest Disney Legends!

“It was the first time I ever wore false eyelashes under my eye, and it was a bad trick… I went backstage and took them off,” Ripa revealed to On The Red Carpet’s George Pennacchio. “I was going to meet people I knew, and my eyelids were taped shut! So I just taped them shut. Now it’s getting better.”

We’re guessing Ripa was glad to have her eyes wide open as she attended the Disney Legends induction ceremony at D23: The Ultimate Fan Event. While it’s a huge honor to be part of this Hall of Fame for Disney, Ripa didn’t focus on her own performance. The best part of the night for her was the performance of fellow Legend John Williams.

“The tribute to John Williams. He is such a big part of my life that he will never know or appreciate it, and I assume everyone else in this room feels the same. But he really is, as they say, the soundtrack of our lives,” Ripa said.

Ripa said she enjoyed the special little moments of the evening.

“Seeing Angela Bassett, talking to Harrison Ford, seeing my buddy Ryan Seacrest… breaking into his dressing room and getting his snacks, there’s a lot to take away.”

When Pennacchio asked how Ripa’s husband (and co-host) Mark Consuelos would react to her becoming a legend, Ripa laughed.

“There is no moment of glory in our house! I felt very uncomfortable with all the praise because that’s not a habit in our house at all. But you know, like I said, it was a really big deal to see so many people that I love, admire and adore.”
