Kelly Ripa complains about store that sends clothes that smell like marijuana

Kelly Ripa had a bougie department store on high Alarm after the retailer allegedly sent her a box of clothes that smelled of marijuana.

The talk show host recalled the comical scenario in Thursday’s episode of Liveduring a recorded segment in which she warned the audience to always wash clothes after purchasing them.

“This was last Christmas, a fancy department store had a big sale. You never see a sale like this. I couldn’t believe it when I got the email notification, and I couldn’t believe the prices. I logged on and bought a bunch of stuff. When it arrived, everything smelled like marijuana,” Ripa said. “Marijuana was oozing out of the box. It was so marijuana. I couldn’t believe it.”

She called the incident “a mystery” since she planned to give some of the items away during the holiday season. “What should I do? Should I give them their marijuana-scented gifts? Should I return them?” she asked as the crowd laughed.

“If you give it back, they might think you are the stoner,” joked Ripa’s husband and co-host Mark Consuelos.

However, Ripa said she wasted no time and immediately took action, calling the facility to complain.

“I immediately called and asked, ‘Why do my things smell like marijuana?'” Ripa said.

She added that the store fought back and told her it probably came from the courier who delivered the package to her home.

Ripa, however, remained persistent and saw through her puff…or…bluff in the same moment.

“When I opened the shipping box, The “It wasn’t the smell, but when I opened the box from the store, the scent came out, so it’s coming from the house. The smell is coming from the house,” she concluded.

She said she ended up keeping some handbags from the order but returned everything else – including coats she had bought for her children so people around her wouldn’t think her mother was the smoking culprit.

Although the ordeal was “very upsetting,” Ripa kept her sense of humor and wrote a note in the bags she gave to others for Christmas.

“I wrote a note: ‘Sorry this smells like weed,'” she concluded.

Surprisingly, this wasn’t the first time Ripa was attacked by the smell of marijuana. In June 2023, she spoke openly about her disdain for the entire Upper East Side of New York City smelling of weed even in the early hours of the morning.
