Yellowstone returns to Paramount Network and Paramount Plus for the final time this November, with Kelly Reilly reprising her role as the unstoppable Beth Dutton. The second half of season five will be the final installment of the series after Kevin Costner exited the drama.

With Yellowstone coming to an end in November, British actress Kelly has already signed a deal for a new six-part miniseries – a Sky Original called Under Salt Marsh. The gripping crime thriller is set in the fictional Welsh town of Morfa Halen.

Kelly plays former detective and now teacher Jackie Ellis, who discovers the apparent drowned body of her eight-year-old student, Cefin. The synopsis continues: “The discovery sends shockwaves through the community and resurrects the ghost of an unsolved case that rocked the town three years earlier – the career-destroying disappearance of Jackie’s niece Nessa.”

After Cefin’s death, Jackie’s former partner, Detective Eric Bull, takes over the investigation in a community he previously abandoned. The synopsis continues: “Convinced the cases are connected, Jackie and Bull must reconcile and try to uncover long-hidden secrets in Morfa before the storm breaks and all evidence is lost forever.”

“‘Under Salt Marsh’ is an intimate and cinematic story that takes audiences into the heart of a community bound to nature and torn apart by an unfathomable crime.”

Kelly, an award-winning stage, film and television actress, was nominated for a 2023 Critics Choice Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role in “Yellowstone.”

The character, which brought her international fame, also earned her a nomination for a 2022 SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series and the 2022 MTV Television and Film Award for Best Performance in a Show.

This is not the first time she has appeared in a crime drama; she previously appeared in HBO’s “True Detective.”

Viewers may also know her from the Sky original series Britannia.

“Under Salt Marsh” was created by Claire Oakley and she will executive direct the project.

Filming on the series, which is produced by Little Door Productions in association with Sky Studios, will begin later this year.

Yellowstone returns to Paramount Plus and The Paramount Network on November 10. Under Salt Marsh is in the pipeline for Sky.
