30 September – Hong Kong singer Kelly Chen will celebrate her third wedding anniversary with husband Alex Lau on October 2, but rumors are surfacing that the couple’s marriage may be on the rocks, according to a report on the XinMSN website.

At a recent event, the singer revealed that Alex visits nightclubs at least four times a week and that he feeds their son junk food.

When her comments were made public, people began to speculate that the couple might be having marital problems.

Kelly later responded to the rumor, saying that in her statement she had simply described how she got along with her husband and that she was confused why people had misunderstood her words.

“A couple has to adapt to each other’s habits since they live together. Alex is definitely not used to it yet. When I was pregnant, he stopped meeting his clients. After Chace was born, he reduced his visits to nightclubs from four times a week to about one or two. He also waited until our son was asleep before going out,” the singer said.

She also compared Alex’s nightclub visits to a woman’s shopping habits, adding: “That’s why we have to adapt to each other.”

Kelly also explained her initial “complaint” that Alex was feeding her son junk food.

“Alex doesn’t have much time to see Chace, so Chace stays close to me. Alex gave Chace (junk food) because he wanted to make a good impression on our son. That’s why I give Chace cake now too,” she said.
