Supermodel Kate Upton has her own mini fashionista in her five-year-old daughter Genevive, whom she has with her husband, baseball star Justin Verlander.
Kate even jokes that her daughter has better style than her and says she lets her choose her own clothes!
Mona Kosar Abdi of “Extra” met Kate and said: “Fashion is so much fun and it’s one of the few ways for kids to express themselves creatively. So I really let her choose her own clothes and she’s so good at choosing and combining colors and patterns. I just thought, ‘Oh, wow, she can see better than me.'”
She said of her own style: “I always tend to go back to classic designs that I feel comfortable in and that fit well, and then I like a little twist. I’ve lived in New York for so long that I feel like I always bring a little bit of New York style with me when I wear classic styles.”
Upton is all about fashion as she hosts the new reality competition series “Dress My Tour,” now streaming on Hulu, which follows 11 aspiring designers on their journey to create stunning pieces for musicians like Paula Abdul, Toni Braxton and JoJo Siwa.
Upton said, “Hosting a show is so different,” adding that while filming the penultimate episode on set, she joked, “Guys, I just figured out how to do this. I can’t wait for season 2 because I just figured it out.”
She also spoke about the drama, saying, “Whenever you have so many designers and creative people with different personalities trying to put their visions into action, drama ensues.”
Speaking about the competition, Kate said: “We give the designers a specific list of what they want. The challenge is how they present it… Instead of models walking down the catwalk, there are dancers and we have this amazing choreography for each episode.”
