A short clip A post shared on social media last summer in which the pair discussed the possibility of racing each other sent sports fans around the world into a frenzy; now that tantalising prospect is set to become a reality as the two stars compete over the crucial sprint distance to find out who really is the fastest.
Warholm is the reigning world record holder in the 400-meter hurdles, Olympic gold medalist and three-time world champion, while Duplantis is the newly crowned two-time Olympic gold medalist and has broken the world record in the pole vault an incredible nine times.
Although the two superstars compete in different disciplines, their respective personal bests in the 100-meter dash are not far apart. Warholm clocked a time of 10.49 seconds in 2017, while Duplantis clocked a time of 10.57 seconds just a year later as a high school senior. This makes the competition incredibly difficult to predict and all the more exciting for spectators, who can look forward to an incredible night of action.
