Jujutsu Kaisen is one of Weekly Shonen Jump’s Star manga properties, with a beautiful anime adaptation by MAPPA. However, many of its best moments remain, including a thrilling battle between Gojo and Sukuna. Thanks to two cosplayers from Vancouver, British Columbia, an iconic Jujutsu Kaisen The fight will be celebrated with a special backdrop from the 2010 Winter Olympics. With the Olympic cauldron in the background, Satoru Gojo’s fight against Ryomen Sukuna will be adapted by Jay King Ingram and William “ZY” Yao for a worthy Jujutsu Kaisen cosplay.

Vancouver’s Olympic cauldron represents the evil shrine


Discovered on Reddit, but also posted on Instagram, cosplayer Jay King Ingram, aka u/-JI, posted his cosplay as Jujutsu Kaisen Satoru Gojo as Sukuna competes against William “ZY” Yao from the famous panel chapter no. 225. The original shot shows Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine expansion from Jujutsu Kaisenon which the King of Curses stands as Gojo prepares for the upcoming battle. In Vancouver, fans will immediately recognize the use of the location of the 2010 Olympic cauldron, which stands for the malevolent shrine, perfect for the 2024 Olympic discourse.

The poses are fairly accurate from Ingram’s Gojo cosplay, with additional details to focus the photography just right and capture the big moment. In addition, Ingram captures Gojo’s triumph as he learns the reverse cursed technique, albeit with a stronger focus on the background and not in the same clothing. Still, for Jujutsu Kaisen For fans, the depiction of several iconic Gojo and Sukuna moments in Vancouver is an unforgettable experience. William “ZY” Yao, also known as _tofusenpai on Instagram, is a professional dancer, actor, streamer and musician, while Jay King Ingram is a community manager for Electronic Arts. Ingram’s extensive Instagram photos show his experiences with Yao and other fans at Anirevo Summer 2024, a major anime convention in Vancouver.


For fans who enjoyed Yao and Ingram’s cosplay version of Gojo vs. Sukuna Jujutsu Kaisenthey don’t seem to feature anime fandom that prominently in their social media footprint. Nevertheless, it is a clear indicator not only for JJKs popularity, but rather how strong the anime’s presence in the mainstream has become.
