Josie Gibson will star in I’m a Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here! after being offered a six-figure sum.

ITV bosses are said to have beaten off bosses from Strictly Come Dancing in the race to host This Morning for this year’s season, and the “incredibly down-to-earth” star is set to bring plenty of laughs to the jungle.

An ITV insider told The Sun newspaper: “Josie is hugely popular with This Morning viewers and producers were determined to get her.

“She is seen as the perfect person for the jungle as she is already such a familiar face on ITV and will bring her fanbase with her.

“She’s incredibly down to earth and seems to strike a chord with people back home. They’re also confident that Josie will bring laughs on ‘I’m a Celebrity’, as she does on ‘This Morning’, and that she’s guaranteed to get on well with most of her campmates.”

“For all those reasons, they wanted her so badly. And if she was lured by the glamour of Strictly, they weren’t going to let her go without a fight.”

Former Big Brother winner Josie, 38, is said to have had a “real dilemma” as I’m a Celebrity and Strictly battled it out for her signature, but the jungle show appears to have won the race.

The insider added: “Talks between Josie’s representatives and the bosses of the two shows have been going on for months and have left the TV presenter with a real dilemma.

“She knows that both shows are hugely popular with audiences and have the potential to boost the careers of everyone who performs on them.”

Josie has worked her way up on This Morning over the past few years and now regularly steps in as co-host of ITV’s brunchtime show.

She joined the show in 2019 as a competition announcer and traveling reporter.
