JK Rowling confirms Harry Potter story is ‘finished’

So that’s it… it’s all over for Harry Potter.

JK Rowling has confirmed that she has reached the end of her journey to come to terms with the suffering of the former child wizard that made her a global star in the literary and film world.

The author spoke at the official premiere of the play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” in London’s West End.

Although the scripts of the play – in which Harry himself has a child – have now been published as books, Harry’s story is over.

“(Harry) goes on a very big journey during these two pieces and then, yeah, I think we’re done,” she said.

“This is the next generation, you know. I’m thrilled that it’s been done so beautifully, but no, Harry is finished now.”

Of course, that doesn’t mean that the Hogwarts story world she created is over.

The first part of the prequel trilogy to “Fantastic Beasts” with Eddie Redmayne in the lead role as “magizoologist” Newt Scamander, the author of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” who appears in the Potter books, will be released on November 18th.

It is also believed that Warner Bros. is considering the possibility of making a film adaptation of the play “Cursed Child”.

Last month, it was discovered that the studio had apparently trademarked the name, although it is not yet known why.

The play picks up the story 19 years after the events of the last Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Harry, Ron and Hermione all have children of their own and are about to go to Hogwarts.

The piece, which is performed in two parts, is already sold out well into 2017 and has now been extended until next December.
