Jennifer Aydin’s reality TV life before RHONJ

Jennifer Aydin’s reality TV life before RHONJ

There is no question that Jennifer Aydin loves being in the spotlight. It doesn’t matter if she’s cracking jokes, imitating her friends or verbally attacking her enemies; she’s happy as long as the spotlight is on her. Like most reality TV stars, Jennifer had a taste of the small screen long before she made her first appearance. Real Housewives of New JerseyAnd once she caught the acting bug, she couldn’t stop. Even though her big break was Bravo, Jen was more than ready for a life that put her lavish living situation front and center.

Watching yourself act like a real Regina George must be embarrassing. But Jen does it with so much style that you might think she’s really like that. When I stumbled upon Jen’s first reality TV series eight years ago, I had to sit down and watch it in one sitting. Of course I was horrified, but it’s nice to see that Jen hasn’t changed one bit.

Jennifer Aydin, the reality TV personality

In 2015, Jennifer was featured in a series called New Money. As the name suggests, the cameras followed faces who lived fantastic lives and considered themselves the one percent. The term refers to the wealthiest people in society who claim to have the most money and power. The term “one percent” is mainly used to describe the top 1% of Americans by annual income. In 2022, that one percent earned $785,968, so I’d love to see Bill Aydin’s tax return.

Jennifer Aydin sticks to the old script

As Real Housewives of New Jersey fans have seen many times, Jen loves to brag about her wealth. She’s great at using her husband’s income as a weapon when it comes to belittling the other women. But as Danielle Cabral implied, Jen can’t fill those empty spaces with love. But it seems that with some money and one of the biggest homes in Paramus, NJ, Jen knew how to market her lifestyle. Of course, Jen found a place in this six-episode season.

In the clip from the 2015 E! show, Jen is seen as a “jewelry queen.” In the opening scene, Jen repeats a classic rich girl mantra, such as “The stores love having me as a customer.” We saw Jen in a store and she comes across as pretentious, so I doubt any sales associate enjoyed serving her. In another clip, Jen is heard saying, “I’ve lost all concept of dollars. I couldn’t even tell you how much a carton of eggs costs.” They cost a lot, Jen, a lot.

Jennifer Aydin feels at home in front of the camera

If anyone remembers MTV Cribs, I did when I watched New Money. Jen was in her element walking through her huge house and giving a tour. But we didn’t get a glimpse of the pool house (I assume Bill was hiding in there). One of the final scenes shows Jen walking through a Turkish shop and saying, “We need diamonds on the hookahs.” However, Jen also imparts some wisdom to viewers by educating them on the value of silver. Towards the end of her episode, she even invited cameras into the kids’ room where she showed off her Chanel bag collection. Jen continued, telling viewers, “The average price for a classic Chanel is about $5,000, and I have 20, so do the math.” Jen was obnoxious then and she still is today.

Season 14 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey made it clear how self-obsessed Jen is. Instead of being nice to her co-stars, she often drags them down by making fun of their looks. The mother of five seems to take a sick joy in making fun of her co-stars’ looks and repeatedly points out that she has the most money. But as Luann de Lesseps sings, “Money can’t buy you class.” Looking back on New Money, I see that Jen is the same person she is now; she’s a bit stuck up and has an inferiority complex. But the mall she can see from her house, Garden State Plaza, has YSL and Gucci, so at least she can continue to torment the staff while she shops.

“Real Housewives of New Jersey” is available to stream on Peacock.
