JB Hunt awards scholarships worth over half a million to employee families

LOWELL, Arkansas – Supply chain solutions provider JB Hunt has awarded scholarships totaling more than $533,000 to 100 new recipients through its JB Hunt Scholarship for Families program.

Now in its third year, the program aims to support the educational ambitions of the children and grandchildren of JB Hunt employees. The scholarship program offers recipients $2,500 per school year and is renewable annually for up to three years, provided students maintain a 2.5 grade point average and study full-time at an accredited two- or four-year college, trade school, or vocational school.

Since the program began in 2022, JB Hunt has disbursed more than $1.2 million in grants.

“This is one of my favorite company initiatives because it allows us to support what matters most to our employees: their families,” said Brad Hicks, president of Highway Services and executive vice president of People at JB Hunt.

The 2024 scholarship recipients include students from 25 states, including Taylor Schultz, a finance student from Springdale, Arkansas, and Rawaan Huseen, a radiology technician from Chicago.

“This scholarship means more than just financial help,” Schultz said. “It means recognition of my efforts and potential, it boosts my confidence, and it inspires me to make a meaningful contribution to my chosen field of study.”

Rawaan Huseen, a radiologic technician from Chicago, said, “Receiving this award is a testament to the transformative power of education and an affirmation of my commitment to making a difference in the field of radiology.”

JB Hunt plans to continue the program for a fourth consecutive year, reaffirming its commitment to supporting education. The program is administered in partnership with Scholarship America, an organization that helps communities, businesses and individuals fund scholarships to support education. JB Hunt’s broader philanthropic efforts focus on health care, veterans’ support, education and crisis management, reflecting the causes that matter most to its employees.
