Booker is coming off a season in which he averaged 27.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game in 68 games, while making 49.2% of his shots from the field and 36.4% of his three-point shots.

Many people noticed his ability to play a smaller role and still make a big impact.

By Ben Golliver of the Washington Post on August 10: “Steve Kerr of the US team at the end of his press conference: “Devin Booker is an incredible basketball player. Nobody asked about him. He was our secret MVP. I just wanted to say that.””

Tatum, on the other hand, is coming off a year in which he led the Celtics to their first title since the 2008 season.

The five-time NBA All-Star averaged 26.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.0 steals per game in 74 games, making 47.1% of his field goals and 37.6% of his three-pointers.

However, Tatum’s playing time at the Olympic Games was limited.
