James Wan (The Conjuring, Insidious) is developing a new The horror of the Amazon He is producing the film for Universal Pictures, but is currently in talks to direct it.

It is explained that Wan is “developing a grounded, modernized retelling that leans toward emotional horror while paying respect to the original classic.”

Wan is at his strongest when directing horror films and it will be interesting to see what his vision for The Horror of the Amazon will look like. I hope he delivers something great!

“The Creature from the Amazon” was released in 1954 and the story of the original is about a group of scientists who discover a prehistoric, amphibious, human-like creature in the Amazon jungle.

While exploring a remote lagoon, the team, led by Dr. David Reed, becomes fascinated by the creature known as the Gill Man. As they attempt to capture and study it, the creature becomes aggressive, feeling threatened by the intruders in its territory.

The film is a thrilling story about the battle between man and nature. It shows the eerie atmosphere of the jungle and the fear of the unknown as the scientists fight for survival against the wrath of the creature.

I love the original film and this is an opportunity for Wan to do something really cool by retelling that story.

Wan is producing the film under his Atomic Monster banner, with Atomic Monster’s Michael Clear and Judson Scott serving as executive producers.

Do you think Wan is a great The horror of the Amazon Film?
