Jameis Winston uses nursery rhyme in his first epic quote during his tenure with the Browns

The Cleveland Browns experienced quarterback Jamie’s Winston has amassed a veritable collection of epic quotes and pre-game speeches over the course of his nine-year career.

On Thursday, he dropped the first memorable sentence of his tenure with the Browns as he tried to summarize why he believes his quarterback colleague Deshaun Watson is still destined for greatness.

“A lot of people forget that when you go out and watch practice, you can do gimmicks, this and that, Paddy Wack, give a dog a bone. Deshaun Watson will turn it on. He will always find a way to shine when the lights come on.”

If you’re wondering what the famous nursery rhyme has to do with football, everyone else is wondering too. But it certainly sounded good. That’s the case with most things when Winston speaks.

Winston’s first epic quote came when he talked about the high expectations placed on Watson this season and the outside criticism that continues to rain down on him. As critical as people on the outside may be, Winston knows that no one is harder on himself than Watson.

“He knows the importance and the expectations that a lot of people have of him,” Winston added. “But if you think Deshaun Watson has lower expectations than all the fans that you all have of him, then you’re fooling yourself because he has high expectations. He wants to be and will be a Super Bowl-winning quarterback.”

That’s certainly a bold prediction coming from one of Watson’s closest confidants. The 2015 first-round pick is no stranger to dealing with adversity off the field, which is one reason he’s been entrusted with the role of Watson’s ultimate hype man for what may be the most important year of his career.
