Isolated thunderstorms late Wednesday

Isolated thunderstorms late Wednesday

WWSB ABC7 News at 6 p.m.

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Due to high pressure to the north, we expect mostly sunny skies in the morning hours with a good chance of showers and some thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening. Highs will be near 90 degrees and the heat index will be between 100 and 105 degrees. Winds will be from the east at 10 to 15 mph, and a light west coast breeze will develop a little later near the coast. This breeze will not be able to penetrate far inland, so storms are expected to develop closer to the coast.

This pattern will not change over the weekend. We will see fewer thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday as some drier air moves in for a few days. Things will become wetter late Saturday and Sunday, bringing a higher chance of showers and thunderstorms on those days. Most days should be good, with mostly sunny skies in the morning and partly cloudy throughout the day.
