Interview: Brittany Snow talks about family dynamics in “The Good Half”

I am always happy to see Brittany Snow appear on the screen. She has a style that makes every character she plays absolutely captivating. In The good halfshe plays a troubled sister who has a really recognizable family dynamic, especially with her brother, played by Nick JonasI spoke to co-star David Arquette here yesterday and tomorrow you will see a chat with Elizabeth Shuebut today it’s Snow’s turn. I’ve wanted to speak to her for years, so it was a pleasure to finally arrange it, and folks…she did not disappoint.

In my review of The good half (found here) I had the following to say about the performances, including Snow’s:

Nick Jonas leads a really strong cast. Jonas delivers his best performance yet, mixing some great lines for the jokes with a really recognizable portrayal of fresh grief. We certainly don’t look alike, but I definitely recognized a lot of myself from back in January in this role. He’s pretty good here. In flashbacks, Elisabeth Shue paints a vivid portrait of a mother who certainly seemed funny and crazy to others, but was totally unique to you. Alexandra Shipp is funny and warm, and shows great chemistry with Jonas. Brittany Snow is the serious one, but lets out some great little quips that show the family dynamic. Snow has great chemistry with Jonas. The same goes for Matt Walsh. When Jonas, Snow, and Walsh share scenes, they’re some of the funniest in the film. The supporting cast includes Mason Cufari and Stephen Park, among others, in addition to an appropriately jerky but never malicious David Arquette, who navigates some difficult territory.

Below you can see my conversation with Snow. In addition to The good halfI praised/we discussed their work in things like Connect, The evil kindAnd X. This film was about family dynamics, why the role appealed to her, and more. We go in a lot of fun directions here and she is absolutely adorable. It’s a really nice conversation for a really good film, so be sure to check both out…
