The Cthulhu-inspired survival horror title from developer Vixa Games Edge of Reason starts on 13 September. In addition, an updated demo of the game is available for you to try out, which includes full English voice acting for Carter, the main character. At launch Edge of Reason will also include full voice acting for all NPCs in addition to the protagonist.

Edge of Reason is a psychological survival horror game with an intense atmosphere, inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. Set in the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness during the Cold War, you play Carter, a member of a supply group helping scientists working in an Alaskan field lab. Finding the place deserted, you encounter horrific creatures and during the escape, your group splits up. You were lucky and made it out alive, setting up a makeshift camp to plan your next expeditions and figure out what happened.

It won’t be easy, though. You’ll have to use everything you find to stand a chance against these eldritch horrors, unravel secrets of the mysterious Thurul Stone, and uncover a tragic story of missing scientists. Learn your enemies’ weaknesses, weaken their senses, manage resources, and use crafting skills and the environment to survive against them. Even if you have no other choice, you can always rely on your trusty axe. However, don’t be surprised if things don’t go in your favor.

Not only do you have to gather food and supplies, but you also have to keep your sanity in check. Every dramatic event during your journey through Alaska leaves permanent scars on your memory. The increasing madness leads to traumas that affect Carter’s actions and sense of reality, open up new dialogue options, and allow you to craft entirely new items.

In addition to Steam Edge of Reason will also be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.
