The Harry Potter Franchise is a major intellectual property that has entertained audiences for many years. Daniel Radcliffe’s Harry Potter Movies have perfectly captured the world and ambience of Hogwarts and its many quirks. The franchise has done a great job of staying true to the books for the most part while introducing some new elements with each film. The film series began with 2001 The Philosopher’s Stone until 2011 Deathly Hallows Part 2.

There were also various inconsistencies within the films that Potterheads didn’t like when compared to JK Rowling’s books. One character arc that was criminally wasted was that of Ginny Weasley, played by Bonnie Wright. The books portrayed Ginny as a dynamic and interesting character who stood on her own and had fascinating adventures compared to the films.

She is confident and is not only a gifted witch but also a talented Quidditch player. Her romance with Harry is heavily emphasized in the books, unlike the films where the character didn’t get the development she deserved to show her fascinating personality. On Reddit, fans criticized Ginny’s portrayal on screen and that her romance with Harry seemed forced and lame. Here are some of the reactions:

Ginny’s role in the films was also significantly reduced compared to the books (only about 20 minutes in the entire franchise according to Entertainment Weekly). In the books, there was a gradual development of her relationship with Harry (from friends to lovers to a married couple). In the films, however, their relationship came out of nowhere and Radcliffe and Wright unfortunately had little to no chemistry.
