A demo for Epic Mickey Rebrushed was recently released. I tried it out on both Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series and have some impressions of both.
A demo of Epic Mickey Rebrushed was released this week. I tried it out on both Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series. Here are my impressions of how the game ran on both systems.
NINTENDO SWITCH
When I first started the demo for Epic Mickey on the Nintendo Switch, the sound seemed very quiet. I had to turn it up a bit in the settings and then it was a bit better. Graphically, Epic Mickey looks really good on the Switch.
It’s also a good game to play. Using the ZR and ZL buttons, one for paint and one for thinner, is really easy and fun. Jumping and running around also works better than on Wii. Plus you can move the camera with the right stick! Wow. I really liked that.
But what is the Xbox Series version like?
XBOX SERIES
Oh my God.
Okay, I love playing games on the Switch. I love the portable mode. Still…
The graphics on the Xbox Series demo of Epic Mickey Rebrushed looked amazing. From the cutscenes to the actual gameplay, the glow on Xbox is incredible!
And the gameplay is better on Xbox too. I really liked it on Switch, but the way the Xbox triggers were used, one for paint and one for thinner, felt much better. Moving and jumping felt perfect too. It was so great to see Epic Mickey looking and playing so well.
MY FAVORITE
If I were to buy the game, I would go for the Switch version because I love playing in portable mode, but if you want the best graphics and controls, you should definitely look for the Xbox Series version, it’s that good.
Ultimately, I really enjoyed playing this game on the Switch and Xbox Series. It was so much fun playing Epic Mickey again. Both demos ran better than the game on the Wii and I say that as someone who loved the game on the Wii.
Epic Mickey Rebrushed is going to be an absolute treat when it comes out. Check out the demo now!
Epic Mickey Rebrushed will be released on September 24th for Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X/Sth2024
